Participation in Identifying and Solving Healthcare Sector Problems in Halabja

Today, 8/18/2025, a special roundtable meeting was held at the provincial office regarding the discussion of the health situation within the province's borders. It was organised by the "Human Network for Health and Humanitarian Work."

Following two important meetings with organisations and representatives of Halabja's health sector, today a roundtable was conducted with the attendance of the Honourable Governor of Halabja, the General Director of Health of Halabja, the network of Halabja organisations, and several experts and relevant stakeholders from the health sector in the province.

The main objective of the roundtable was to present the current state of the health sector, identify obstacles, and identify appropriate mechanisms for solving them and improving services.

As an information technology specialist and an employee of the General Directorate of Health of Halabja in the IT department, I presented several observations and suggestions to the attendees of the "Human Network for Health and Humanitarian Work" with the aim of further utilising information technology and advancing the health sector in Halabja Province. These consisted of the

following:
1: Opening information technology courses and developing health and administrative staff.
2: digitising hospitals and clinics and connecting them together through an advanced database system or health information system.
3: Establishing and providing job opportunities in the field of information technology for graduates and technology specialists in the health sector in general.

We hope that as a result of this roundtable, we can further advance the health sector in Halabja Province.
